Houston Rodeo

Colby and I had a great time at the rodeo again this year with Shannon and Trystan.  Somehow we are able to keep picking days of beautiful weather to spend there.

They've grown up just a little from last year...

First X-rays

Over spring break we had a great visit with our cousins!  There was rainbow looming...

and selfies...

and trampoline jumping...

which led to our first x-rays :( During all of the fun jumping, Colby got a double bounce and just started screaming.  I brought him inside and after he was able to stop crying he just sat.  And no matter what he refused to walk.  We realized after a little while that we needed to get into the doctor.  Because he wasn't able to tell us anything and wouldn't walk at all, she sent us to the hospital for x-rays.

By this time he was actually super happy as long as someone carried him.

Rick and I were so nervous that the x-rays would freak him out but as you can see somebody was a little bit of a flirt with the technicians helping him.

We were so happy to get the results that nothing was broken.  The next day he started crawling which was progress but actually really sad to watch. Then the following day he started walking with a big limp.  Finally on the third day he was as good as new.  Because this happened on our trampoline I had a lot of mommy guilt when we took Colby in to Dr. E.  I asked her if we were bad parents because we had a trampoline.  She said that only fun parents have trampolines.  He's back to jumping on it every evening and loving it!

Portraits

I don't know if I'll ever convince Rick to do photography professionally, but we love having such beautiful pictures of Colby and our nieces!

Trail Riders

We had a great time watching the trail riders come in for the Houston Rodeo.  The Saltgrass Trail Ride goes right by Chloe and Lexy's preschool so we went there to watch.  It was REALLY cold so they definitely sat in the back of the car until it was time.

  The kids were mesmerized!

Fiest Bowl Trip

What an awesome football season our Bears had this year!  It ended with an amazing series of events that made us Big 12 Champs and got us a ticket to the Fiesta Bowl.  And the day after that happened, we booked our own tickets to the Bowl!  On New Year's Eve we boarded a plane bound for Phoenix and met up with Shannon, Danny, and Lauren once we got in town.  The weather could not have been more beautiful so we enjoyed some lunch and shopping in Scottsdale.
Then we headed to check into our hotel and get ready for New Year's Eve.  We had an incredibly yummy dinner at Twisted Root Winery and then headed to downtown Scottsdale for fireworks.  Can't remember the last time we were out for New Year's Eve so we did it right!

The next day was game day!  Is there a way you can post about attending a bowl game and not post the score?  Yes, yes there is ;)

Sadly, Shannon, Danny, and Lauren had to head back home the next morning.  Rick and I stayed another day.  If anything can soothe a broken bowl heart, a pink jeep tour of Sedona can!  It was seriously so beautiful and we had the best time.  When I booked the pink jeeps, I didn't really know all that I was in for!  Despite the fact that I saw my life flash before my eyes several times, we had a great time!  No better way to see Sedona.

We had a great time getting away together and experiencing our first BCS bowl.  We love our Bears and can't wait to see what next year brings!
