Colorado Part 2: Fishin'

Our first adventure on our first full day in Colorado was to do some fishing.  I use the term adventure loosely because we visited a stocked pond in town for Colby's first fishing trip.  He didn't even have any bait, but he loved throwing out his line and reeling it in just like Daddy.  His little Mickey fishing pole came with a plastic fish weight, so every time he pulled it in he yelled, "I did it!".

Later on in the trip we did a little "real" fishing at a lake outside town.  This time Colby just "fished" for a little while and then took to skipping rocks for quite a while.  I'll say it a million times in posts about this vacation... we could have stayed there and never come back!

Colorado Part 1: Road Trippin'

This summer we took our first big road trip and headed to Estes Park, Colorado.  Since the trip was 19 hours we decided to take two days and stop in Amarillo.  Colby ended up being a rock star road tripper and it was Mommy and Daddy who were really itching to get out of the car!  It didn't hurt that he had plenty of new things to entertain him.

 The irony of these pictures is that this is the only time I drove at all, the entire trip there or back.  Which totaled maybe 3 hours... so Rick drove us 35 hours.  Whew!

This trip was full of so many great memories for our family, and oddly the road trip was one of them!

Happy Fourth of July!

We had an awesome 4th of July celebration with friends from church.  We had YUMMY food, sprayed hair, and even a bike parade.  This sweet boy was not scared of fireworks at all!  Such a great day!
