Our Ladybug

As I keep this blog for our family memories, I want to record my memories about our pregnancy with sweet Evie.  We began trying for another child when Colby was 18 months old.  So, needless to say it took time and felt like it might never happen!  We had heartbreaks and moments when we thought we would remain a family of three forever (which would have been beautiful too!).  After lots of tries we went through an entirely new round of IVF with a transfer that fell during spring break.  That begins a long 2 week wait to find out if it worked.

In my pregnancy with Colby, and throughout our journey through infertility, God has used ladybugs to remind me of his presence.  Not necessarily a sign of luck as some would say, just that no matter what, I am not alone or forgotten.  I also have seen them right before or after some of our hardest pregnancy related moments.

The week after the transfer, I was sitting at my teacher table, and a little girl walks up and says, Mrs. Turner, I just found this in my desk:

Then, the day we went for our ultrasound, which is where we had received bad news in the past, my door partner texted me and said, "I don't know what is going on, but we just had a fire drill and your class was covered in ladybugs!".

In those weeks I saw them on the screen of my kitchen window, in our house, and in my classroom.  And we of course found out that God had given us our own sweet ladybug.

We couldn't contain our excitement for ourselves and for Colby to become a big brother!
