These days...

New Development #1: I can reach things on the table!
New Development #2: Just because I usually follow to my room to take off my clothes doesn't mean I'll ALWAYS follow you.  Sometimes I'm just ready to get in the bath.
Daddy's headphones are awesome.  Daddy is awesome.
My new friend from church, Noah.  Finally found a boy to be friends with!
Qtips allow mommy to get ready in the morning!
Touching a lobster!

Mother's Day Love

So last Mother's Day we had Colby's dedication at church and lots of our family over to our house for brunch.  It was the opposite of relaxing!  This Mother's Day was the complete opposite.  I basically had the perfect day in my book.  Rick brought Colby in to our bed in the morning and he was so precious and snuggly I could have stayed there all day.  We enjoyed church and lunch together.  Then I went to a movie AND got a pedicure!  Dinner with my mom and family topped off the perfect day.
Getting to be a mom is more in every way than I thought it would be.  I feel like a lot is said about what hard work it is and that is true.  But the privilege of it... the incredible honor of it... is really unspeakable.  I don't know when it happened, but at some point this year God really opened my eyes to the truth that THESE are the days.  This is the good stuff... wide eyes at new experiences, uncontrolled laughter at apparently nothing, tiny hands holding fingers, and a head laid down sideways on your shoulder.  A front row seat to all of that is the very best place to be!

Happy Birthday Shelby!

Colby and I went to Victoria to celebrate sweet Shelby's 4th birthday!  Before we went we had to pick out a gift...
Colby approved!
Quick horsey ride
Shelby had such a fun party.  She is really the sweetest little girl and LOVES on Colby so much.  And of course we were happy that the gift C picked out seemed to be a hit and she put it on right away... she loves to rock!  We all had a great time!

Muffin of the month

For Christmas this year Colby and I gave my Grandmother a gift certificate to a muffin of the month club. This club is different though because I make the muffins and Colby delivers them :)

We have already made some great memories with her this year!

A Sad First

The week before Easter Colby and I had a sad first for him!  He was in his first car accident.  Someone hit the man behind me who then ran into me.  While my car didn't have a huge amount of damage, the car behind me was totaled.  Sweet Colby cried when it happened but I think that was as much because I screamed as anything.  He stopped pretty quickly.  I left him in his seat until EMS came to check everybody out.  Luckily we had his little dvd player so he sat and watched for quite a while as we worked everything out.  The EMS said that he was "perfect" and I couldn't have agreed more. We also got a good laugh that our tow truck driver's name was Colby too. It took a few weeks but we got my car back and are back on the road. I am so grateful it wasn't worse! Here's a pic of Colby and I at bath time that evening... Sad but silly ;)

Rodeo Round 2

The week of spring break these three cute girls and their parents came for a visit.  I think without realizing it this has become our tradition to spend time with them over the break.  Or we've done it twice and now I will proclaim it a tradtition so they are forced to do it every year!  I couldn't love these girls (or their parents) more and love our time together.
Can you believe how big they are getting?  Ugh.  Addysen got to got to Build a Bear before they came to our house for a late birthday present.  So it was late when they got to our house and Colby was already asleep.  These three couldn't be any cuter.  Once we got them to sleep the parents stayed up WAY too late talking.  And that made Saturday morning HARD to get up for... well not for these two :)
After this Shelby fed him the rest of his waffle piece by piece.  She is such a little mama!  We did head to the rodeo on a Saturday which was a mistake but we still had fun.

Despite the crowds we went to the petting zoo, ate carnival food, got faces painted, and bought (not won) carnival prizes.  Can't wait for next year!

These days...

Being silly with Dada after lunch
 "Hi people in the street!"
 Love to climb!
Warmed up enough to play with the water table
Don't tell Colby... one day Lexy visited during his nap
Colby needed a special check of his eyes (everything is just fine).  They had to put those drops in and then we had to wait for his eyes to dilate.  Not sure if that made him nervous or what, but he then felt like he wanted to hold my finger while he explored the toys.
Sweet boy loves to find a good reading spot
I'm now that mom... that needs this shopping cart for a successful shopping trip!
Always new ways to play with toys :)
This kid... :)
